Why the roofline goes green
Fascias and soffits stay damp longer than walls, especially on the shaded side and under trees. Algae grows on the film of dirt that settles there. Washing removes both, and the clean surface stays brighter for longer. If gutters overflow, the water running down the fascia speeds it up, which is another reason to clear the gutters at the same time.
Questions
How often should fascias and soffits be cleaned?
Every 12 to 18 months for most houses. Sooner if you're near a busy road or trees, or the north side of the house stays damp.
Can you get the black streaks off?
Most algae, dirt and black streaking comes off. Very old staining on weathered or chalky UPVC can improve a lot without disappearing completely; we'll tell you from your photos.
Do you clean coloured UPVC?
Yes. Anthracite grey, black and woodgrain UPVC are cleaned with methods suited to the finish.
Can you do the windows at the same time?
Yes, we can add a window clean to the same visit.
